About Perspective Divide
Perspective Divide Software, LLC is an independent software company founded in 2024 by me, Thayer Andrews. Perspective Divide makes software for 3D content creation and presentation using OpenUSD as a foundation and provides software engineering services to help others do so as well.
I originally found my career in graphics software development via long-held interests in computer hardware, programming, drawing, video gaming, and 3D modeling. All these years later, when time allows, I still love drawing and modeling on the Mac and iPad, and my favorite types of software to write are creative tools that enable those pursuits for myself and others.
In addition to a love of macOS and iOS development, I have 25 years of professional experience creating 3D graphics software across a wide range of hardware and software platforms. I started my career at Silicon Graphics working on OpenGL drivers and programmable shading for SGI’s Irix. Since then I have worked on Xbox and PlayStation 2 games, Windows OpenGL drivers at AMD, macOS OpenGL drivers at Intel, and a random assortment of 3D related software at two mobile startups. Most recently I spent several years working on SketchUp at Trimble which culminated in a project to modernize SketchUp’s graphics systems. This work shipped in SketchUp 2024 and has been positively received by users and reviewers.
